Make a difference in a child's life

Help Fill A Dream Foundation

Every day kids have the opportunity to dream, but it's not every day that those dreams are fulfilled. Help Fill a Dream cares about making dreams come true for critically-ill children on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

Golf for Kids is proud and humbled to have been associated with Help Fill a Dream since our very first fundraising event in 1997. Ours has been an incredible partnership for over two decades and it will continue to be as we make the drive towards our 25th anniversary.

Well over 50% of all Dreams filled, and assistance provided to Island children and their families, is a direct result of the generosity of Golf for Kids supporters.

Children deserve a chance to simply be kids, and their parents deserve a chance to be mom and dad - not just caregivers. By working together we can continue to transform your generosity into support that makes meaningful impact on the lives of these kids and their families.

“Each and every year, the incredible people at Golf for Kids – players, volunteers, sponsors, and special guests – surprise us with the extent of their generosity and thoughtfulness. It just keeps getting bigger and better. Our growth is intricately linked to the success of Golf For Kids. We have grown up together and assisted thousands of Island children as a result. In addition to the money raised, the whole team at Golf for Kids provides us with support, encouragement and inspiration throughout the year.”
- Craig Smith, Help Fill a Dream Foundation Executive Director

About Help Fill a Dream

Helping families face challenging situations

Help Fill A Dream Foundation often comes into the life of a family when things are at their worst. When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition a family’s focus becomes their child, their medical appointments and treatment; there’s no time for anything else. Since 1986 Help Fill a Dream Foundation has been supporting those families from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands whose lives have suddenly changed due to their child’s diagnosis with a medical condition or severe health challenge.

“For the last decade I have had the pleasure of emceeing the annual Golf for Kids Charity Golf Classic tournament, banquet and live auction at Bear Mountain Golf & Tennis Resort Community. This event is in a league of its own, growing from a small, grass roots event to a multi-million dollar fundraiser in support of the Help Fill a Dream Foundation and countless other Vancouver Island based children’s charities.

Dale Douglas and Murray Stewart started out with the sole purpose of raising a few dollars for a local young person who was struggling with health issues, never knowing that not that many years later it would grow to become the premier fundraising event on Vancouver Island. Each year Golf for Kids has presented my wife Bev and me with the opportunity to help direct funds to worthy causes in our community. What an honour it is that they trust our judgement, and because of this we have done our very best to distribute much needed funds throughout Vancouver Island.

I am happy and proud to call Dale and Murray my friends and I am completely committed to being a part of Golf for Kids, in any way I can, each and every year.“
