“For the last decade I have had the pleasure of emceeing the annual Golf for Kids Charity Golf Classic tournament, banquet and live auction at Bear Mountain Golf & Tennis Resort Community. This event is in a league of its own, growing from a small, grassroots event to a multi-million dollar fundraiser in support of the Help Fill A Dream Foundation and countless other Vancouver Island based children’s charities.
Dale Douglas and Murray Stewart started out with the sole purpose of raising a few dollars for a local young person who was struggling with health issues, never knowing that not that many years later it would grow to become the premier fundraising event on Vancouver Island. Each year Golf for Kids has presented my wife Bev and me with the opportunity to help direct funds to worthy causes in our community. What an honour it is that they trust our judgement, and because of this we have done our very best to distribute much needed funds throughout Vancouver Island.
